Red Cloud Opera House

Home to an art gallery and bookstore, the Red Cloud Opera House offers a step back in time to the 1890s—when a young Willa Cather and her friends eagerly gathered for traveling stage productions. It was within these historic walls that Cather first encountered live theater, took the stage herself, and delivered her high school graduation speech in 1890. Today, the Opera House hosts a vibrant lineup of performances and serves as the headquarters of the Willa Cather Foundation.

At Superior Estates Winery, located in Nebraska’s Republican River Valley, great wine begins in the soil. Spread across sixteen carefully tended acres, the vineyard celebrates Midwest varietals like Traminette and Frontenac. Red Cloud takes pride in being home to one of Nebraska's top-rated 9-hole public  golf courses. Founded in 1988 by the late PGA pro Harry Obitz, the course features elevated greens that allow for quick play after rain. Amenities include a driving range, putting green, golf cart rentals, and a clubhouse bar.
